Karim Vionnet
Karim Vionnet, of Algerian descent, was raised in Morgon after being adopted by Marie and Josef Vionnet. Though not from a winemaking family, his path was set early—befriending Marcel Lapierre’s nephew and quickly finding himself working in the vines.
After a brief detour into baking, he returned to wine, spending eight formative years alongside Beaujolais greats Jean Foillard and Guy Breton before founding his own domaine in 2006.
Today, Karim works closely with his daughter Noémie, organically farming 5 hectares of 40–60-year-old vines across Fleurie, Chénas and Chiroubles. His approach is deeply rooted in the teachings of Jules Chauvet—prioritising thoughtful farming, minimal intervention and a return to Beaujolais’ traditional, expressive roots.
The result is a range of wines that are vibrant, soulful and full of life—an enduring benchmark for honest, characterful Beaujolais.
