La Mesma
Two decades ago, sisters Paola, Anna and Francesca Rosina—an art historian, lawyer and biologist—purchased a farmhouse and vineyard in Tassarolo, near Gavi. What began as a project for family consumption has grown into a quietly serious and impressive estate.
Of their 100 hectares, just 25 are under vine, with the rest left as forest. Vineyards span two distinct sites: red clay soils around Tassarolo, and the stark white limestone of the Monterotondo cru. Sitting at 300m and cooled by Ligurian breezes, the sites retain freshness even in warmer vintages.
Cuvées are shaped by soil and vine age—Monterotondo delivering tension and lift, Tassarolo bringing depth and generosity.
Far removed from the region’s more commercial norm, these are Gavi wines of real character, structure and intent.
