An hour's drive southeast of Rome are the verdant Castelli Romani, or Roman Castles. For centuries Romans have sought the cool reprieve of the Castelli as the heat becomes too much to bear in the Eternal City.

The region has a considerable number of DOCs, with both ICARO cuvees coming from the Velletri DOC. 

This is a small but immensely exciting project by friends Rocco, Luca, Gianmarco and Fabio. Their mission statement is to revitalise and reintroduce the world to the wines of Romani Castelli. 

Their site is one of sheer beauty—a single vineyard in Velletri surrounded by a 250ha natural monument of wild forest, huge oaks, maples and cyclamen.

Farming is organic and everything from picking to bottle being done by hand.

It is with immense pleasure that we bring you, for the first time in Australia, these wines. We hope you love them as much as we do!
