Schmolzer & Brown

Vignerons Schmölzer & Brown is the project of Tessa Brown and Jeremy Schmölzer, based high in the hills of Beechworth. After working across Australia and Europe, including time in Germany’s Rheinhessen, they established their own Thorley vineyard near Stanley, planted at over 700 metres elevation. The cool alpine climate, granitic soils and long growing season shape their distinctive approach to varieties including Riesling, Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and Nebbiolo. Thoughtful farming and restrained winemaking keep the focus firmly on site, producing wines defined by freshness, precision and a distinctly alpine character.
