2023 Karim Vionnet 'Cuvée le Pinp' Regnie

Born to Algerian parents, Karim was adopted as a child by the Vionnets in Morgon. He has worked with the region’s greats—Lapierre, Breton, Foillard—as a vineyard- and cellar-hand, as well as assistant winemaker. He alongside his daughter Noemie now farm 5ha across Beaujolais-Villages, Chiroubles, Chenas and Fleurie.

‘Cuvée le Pinp’ from Regnie is bright and lifted, it shows crunchy red cherry, raspberry and wild strawberry, with a pop of violet and a hint of spice. The palate is juicy and supple, with soft tannins, fresh acidity and a lightly savoury edge. Chill it down slightly—this is Beaujolais at its most playful and dangerously drinkable.
