Brash Higgins is the project of Brad Hickey, an American-born former sommelier who swapped New York restaurants for winemaking in McLaren Vale. Based at the Omensetter Vineyard in the Vale, Brad has built a reputation as one of the region’s most curious and inventive winemakers, constantly exploring different varieties, vessels and traditional techniques from around the world. Working with minimal intervention and an intuitive approach in the cellar, his wines favour character, texture and individuality over convention, offering a distinctive and often unexpected expression of McLaren Vale.
