François Cotat is one of Sancerre’s legendary producers, making wine much as his family has since the 1940s — tiny yields, late harvesting, native yeasts and old foudre. From some of his oldest Sauvignon vines comes a beautifully expressive wine, packed with orchard fruit, cool acidity and chalky minerality. Generous and full of personality, yet incredibly fresh, precise and unmistakably Sancerre.

This comes from his oldest Sauvignon vines, averaging around 40 years, and is the most flamboyant of his wines — ripe orchard fruit, beautiful texture and power, all kept in check by cool acidity and chalky minerality. Generous, energetic and seriously special.
