La Mesma is the family estate of sisters Paola, Francesca and Anna Rosina, farming organically in the rolling hills of Gavi in southern Piedmont. With a particular passion for Cortese, they produce wines that capture the variety's remarkable freshness while exploring its capacity for texture, complexity and ageing.

Monterotondo comes from old Cortese vines grown on the limestone-rich hills overlooking Gavi. Ripe pear, yellow apple and white peach are joined by lemon zest, wild herbs and a touch of almond. Extended ageing on lees in concrete brings lovely depth and texture, while bright acidity and a salty mineral edge keep everything fresh and focused. Generous yet beautifully balanced, with a long, savoury finish that shows just how much character great Gavi can offer.
