S.C. Pannell is the project of Stephen and Fiona Pannell, with Stephen’s thoughtful approach to Mediterranean varieties helping reshape the modern face of McLaren Vale. Grenache sits firmly at the heart of the estate, with a focus on individual vineyards and wines that balance perfume and generosity with freshness, structure and a clear sense of place.

The 2022 Sunrise 99 is the inaugural release from century-old bush vines in the east-facing Sunrise block of Blewitt Springs' Little Branch Vineyard. Dark cherry and raspberry are layered with rose petal, liquorice, graphite and subtle earthy spice. Profoundly concentrated yet remarkably composed, the palate combines silky texture with firm, finely grained tannins and vibrant acidity. The finish is exceptionally long, savoury and mineral, revealing a Grenache of remarkable depth, precision and ageing potential.
