Cellier de la Baraterie is the small organic estate of Julien Viana, based in Cruet at the foot of the Bauges mountains in Savoie. Working with native alpine varieties and a light touch in the cellar, Julien produces pure, energetic wines that capture the freshness and mineral character of the region.
Malvoisie comes from southeast-facing vines rooted in black marl and clay-limestone soils. Ripe pear and yellow apple are layered with citrus, gentle florals and a distinctive smoky mineral note. Fine lees bring softness and texture to the palate, balanced by alpine freshness and a long, saline finish.
