Nuzzella is a small, organic estate on the eastern slopes of Mount Etna, founded in 2014 by Nicola Oteri and his wife Norma. Working restored vineyards by hand, they farm native varieties across a striking mix of volcanic “black” lava soils and lighter sedimentary “white” soils, capturing the raw energy and tension of the site.
‘Selmo’ Etna Rosso is built primarily from Nerello Mascalese, with a focus on purity and site expression. The 2021 is lifted yet quietly powerful—wild strawberry, red cherry and blood orange layered with dried herbs, spice and a fine volcanic, smoky edge. The palate is silky and finely structured, with bright acidity, delicate tannins and a long, mineral finish.
