The Bertrand estate was established in the 1950s by Louis Bertrand, located in a special part of Beaujolais called ‘Grand-Pré’. This section straddles the crus of both Fleurie and Morgon and is rich in sandy granitic soil.
Now helmed by Louis’ son, Yann, whose philosophy is to attain the best balance possible for the soil, as soil in equilibrium will produce grapes that best represent the terroir where it is grown. The complexities of the vineyard are demonstrated through each cuvee. These are wines of purity and clarity that speak earnestly of time and place.
