Commendatore Lino Maga’s family have been making wine from their single cru, Barbacarlo, since 1886. 

Lino, who in 2017 marked his 80th consecutive vintage, has shared the winemaking duties with his son, Giuseppe, since 1987.

That history is apparent when you taste these unique and captivating wines. They are rustic yet refined, charming and touchingly honest, with a rarely seen transparency.

The Commendatore passed at the beginning of 2021, marking a sad day for the wine world.

These vintages are some of his last and remain his vinous postcards from a live well-lived.
