Born to Algerian parents, Karim was adopted as a child by the Vionnets in Morgon. He has worked with the region’s greats—Lapierre, Breton, Foillard—as a vineyard- and cellar-hand, as well as assistant winemaker. He alongside his daughter Noemie now farm 5ha across Beaujolais-Villages, Chiroubles, Chenas and Fleurie.

‘Du Beur dans les Pinards’ is his most playful, emblematic cuvée. Bursting with crunchy red cherry, raspberry and a pop of violet, it leans into pure, juicy Gamay fruit with a soft, savoury undertone. The palate is supple and vibrant, with silky tannins, fresh acidity and that classic Beaujolais lift. Easy, energetic and dangerously drinkable—exactly what you want from a wine with a name like this.
