2023 Jean Foillard Morgon 'Corcelette'

Jean Foillard is one of the defining growers of modern Beaujolais and a key figure in the region’s return to traditional, low-intervention winemaking. Based in Morgon, he works with old-vine Gamay and a gentle approach in the cellar, producing wines renowned for their perfume, silky texture and remarkable expression of site.

Corcelette comes from old vines rooted in the sandy, decomposed granite soils of northern Morgon. Raspberry, wild strawberry and red cherry are layered with violets, gentle spice and a subtle mineral edge. Fragrant and beautifully lifted, the palate is supple and silky, with fine tannins and bright acidity carrying the wine through a long, fresh and lightly savoury finish.
