Founded in 2010 by husband-and-wife winemakers Tomoko Kuriyama and Guillaume Bott, Chanterêves has quickly become one of the most exciting names in new-wave Burgundy. Originally a tiny négociant project, they now farm their own vineyards with a focus on organic and biodynamic farming, native fermentation and a light touch in the cellar.
From 40-year-old Aligoté vines on a steep site in the Hautes-Côtes de Beaune, this is bright, energetic and beautifully precise. Crisp apple and citrus lead into a subtle flinty edge, fine texture and a long, salty, mineral finish — Aligoté with some serious class.
