2019 Champagne Alexandre Bonnet 'Hardy' Blanc de Noirs
Place: Cote des Bar - Champagne, France
Variety: Pinot Noir
Farming: Organic
Alexandre Bonnet is based in Les Riceys in the Côte des Bar, a southern outpost of Champagne defined by Kimmeridgian soils and a strong Pinot Noir identity. Working with estate-grown fruit, the focus is on site expression and a more vinous, structured style of Champagne.
‘Hardy’ is a single-parcel Blanc de Noirs from 100% Pinot Noir, and the 2019 vintage shows a more concentrated, muscular side of the house style. Red apple, blood orange and quince sit alongside spice, toasted brioche and a subtle earthy note. The palate is broad and structured, with fine mousse, layered texture and a firm, chalky backbone. Long, savoury and quietly powerful—built more for the table than the aperitif.
