S.C. Pannell is the project of Stephen and Fiona Pannell, with Stephen’s thoughtful approach to Mediterranean varieties helping reshape the modern face of McLaren Vale. Grenache sits firmly at the heart of the estate, with a focus on individual vineyards and wines that balance perfume and generosity with freshness, structure and a clear sense of place.

The 2022 Little Branch is the first release from the estate’s Blewitt Springs vineyard, sourced from unirrigated Grenache vines rooted in sandy soils flecked with ironstone. Raspberry, strawberry and dark cherry are layered with rose, dried herbs, cinnamon and warm spice, with subtle earthy and ironstone notes underneath. Fine, sandy tannins build through the palate, balancing generous fruit with freshness and impressive structure. Perfumed, savoury and beautifully composed, it’s a serious expression of Blewitt Springs Grenache with plenty of life ahead.
