Place: Bouzy & Ambonnay β Champagne, France
Variety: Pinot Noir
Farming: Sustainable
'Clouet is a Pinot Noir house with access to 8ha of vines of the best sun-kissed slopes of Bouzy and Ambonnay, both Grand Cru villages in Montagne de Reims. The Clouet family have worked in the area since 1751, along the way acquiring prized plots of the region.Bouzy ranks amongst the greatest terroirs of Champagne. Itβs one of the warmest in the Montagne de Reims and according to Champagne aficionado Peter Liem βthanks to a sunny, south-facing exposition, it's known for ripe, full-bodied wines, a primary reason for its historical fame.β Itβs a Grand Cru Village where pinot noir exudes tension and muscularity.' β note from the importer, Beaune & Beyond
One of all-time Champagnes. Powerful yet refined. Incredibly long. A must have before inflation pushes it too far upstream for us honest folk.
