Place: Wind River Valley, Adelaide Hills — SA
This is Matt Keogh’s first wine after many vintages in France and years on the floor of Melbourne restaurants. The fruit comes from a 20 year old single vineyard in the Wind River Valley at the most southern point of the Adelaide Hills.
Matt’s desire was to retain freshness whilst trying to elicit as much savoury, Rhône-style characteristics. He’s done a great job as it is both approachable now, but will develop nicely over five years or so in the cellar.
