2019 Barbacan 'Jazpemi'

Barbacan was founded by Angelo Sega and his sons Matteo and Luca in 2006. They farm 7ha of vines in Lombardy, showcasing nebbiolo (chiavennasca) and other regional varieties. They take their role as representatives of the region seriously, seeing their wines as the vanguard of Valgella, one of the five sub-zones of Valtellina.
Jazpémi is a Valtellina Superiore that comes from the vineyards in the Valgella area that have that name. It is essentially the first Barbacan “CRU”. It is a well-balanced wine both on the nose and on the palate and perfectly typical of the vintage from which it comes. Beautiful hints of ripe fruit in full harmony with the spices, when tasted one is captured by a beautiful fullness and the enveloping of a tannin that is not at all intrusive.
