Place: Fleurie - Beaujolais, FRA
Born to to Algerian parents, Karim was adopted as a child by a family in Morgon. His first career was a baker but eventually fell into wine, as one does in this region, and got the natural wine bug by working as a vineyard-hand and winemaker for some of the OG natty wine legends like Guy Breton and Marcel Lapierre. Technically a negociant, Karim is responsible for the organic farming and vinification of 5 hectares of plots around Beaujolais, with vines ranging from 40-60 years old.
From 50 Year old vines deeply rooted in Granite. This Fleurie is one of only two of Karim's wines that sees oak (8 Months). True to the Cru it is elegant and fine boned, with a Pinot Noir like density that is alluring and ethereal.
