The wines of Bertrand Gautherot have seduced us for over a decade now. Uncompromising in their farming and production, and unmistakably artisanal, these are Champagnes that are first and foremost, wines. Biodynamically farming, controlled yields, later picking for optimal ripeness and no additions including dosage make for intensely vinous and fruit pure expressions of the Champagne region. Without a doubt some of the most exciting wines in Champagne, and the world, right now!

Fidele is vinified entirely - without added yeast or chapitalisation - in used Burgundian barrels for ten months. These barriques were purchased from Domaine Arnaud Ente in Meursault. The wine spends 15 months on lees and is disgorged with zero dosage.

The amber-coloured NV Brut Nature Fidele is gorgeous. Lifted, precise and nuanced throughout, the Fidele possesses a captivating aromatic. Medium in body and tense in style, the Fidele is super-expressive today. It could use another year in bottle to soften a bit, but it is nevertheless striking.
