2022 La Mesma 'Etichetta Gialla' Gavi Classico Piedmont, Italy

Three sisters at at the helm of La Mesma, an estate working in Piedmont’s Gavi region. Cortese has slowly crept into fashion while timorasso, the long-planted white grape of the region, faded out. Both varieties are unique and wonderful in their own right, producing fresh and textural whites that are friendly to so much at the table. 

Superbly aromatic on the nose, it’s a story of waxy texture in the mouth, the combination of both producing a wine that is a joy to drink alone, but wonderful with all things seafood and citrus. 

2020 Garganuda 'Etichetta Bianca' Soave Veneto, Italy

Garganuda is an immensely exciting project by Stefano Menti, the widely respected Veneto vigneron, and his brother-in-law, Andrea Fiorini Carbognin. Together they produce three wines: a Soave, a Valpolicella and this curio. 

This is wonderfully fresh and textural garganega that has a slightly cloudy hue from no filtration or fining in the winemaking. Can be slurped relentlessly at the house party or deeply pondered over dinner.

2021 Tenuta San Marcello Verdicchio di Jesi Buca Classico Marche, Italy

Massimo Palmieri and his family left Milan for a quieter life in the rolling foothills of Marche. Obsessed with the qvevri-raised wines of Georgia, Massimo only uses stainless steel and Georgian qvevri to ferment and age the wines that come from his biodynamically- farmed vineyard.

This is classic Marche verdicchio. Unmistakably sun-kissed and sea-sprayed, it combines citrus freshness and stone fruit texture to be a truly delicious summer white. Best enjoyed with shellfish linguine!
