Named in 1973 after the Scottish Highlands town of his ancestors by founder Ewan Jones, Dalwhinnie has had a long and illustrious history of producing some of the Pyrenees region’s best Chardonnay, Shiraz, and Cabernet.
We wouldn't normally quote James Halliday but his words were too good to pass up here:
Exceptionally dense crimson-purple showing through on the rim; blackcurrant/cassis fruit is perfectly matched with ripe, persistent tannins and quality oak. Virtually unchanged since first tasted Jan '15, and will surely be one of the great Dalwhinnie cabernets as it slowly matures over the next 20+ years.
