2021 Nicolas Reau 'Indigene' Muscadet
$45.00
$45.00
Place: Anjou - Loire Valley, France
Variety: Melon de Bourgogne
Farming: Organic
Nicolas was a jazz and blues pianist until he was twenty-two at which age he swapped scales for secateurs. He studied winemaking and viticulture at Montreuil then supplemented those studies with more at Bordeaux. He now farms 5.5ha of cabernet franc and chenin blanc at his estate, Clos de Treilles.
It is, of course, made from melon de bourgogne as all Muscadet must be. It is fermented and aged for nine months in stainless steel on fine lees and bottled without fining, filtration or sulphur. Criminally refreshing, built for oysters and other seadwellers.
