2022 Poderi Cellario 'Liberta' Nebbiolo

Fausto and Cinzia Cellario are 3rd generation winemakers in the village of Carru on the western outskirts of the Langhe. The family believes in only working with local, indigenous Piemontese grape varieties and fiercely defends local winemaking traditions both in the vineyard work and the cellar practices. Vineyard work is organic (soon to be certified) and all the fermentation take place with indigenous yeasts. Sulphur is only added in tiny quantities at bottling if necessary.

Grown on Sandy Soil vineyards in the Langhe. A Short maceration in stainless steel and aged in Terracota Amphora which gives the wine structure and importantly helps with softer tannins. The focus here is a fresh and approachable Nebbiolo that has some structure and balance but in approachable with or without food. Freshness and wonderful but unmistakably NEBBIOLO from Piedmont. Serve with a slight chill.
