Jean Foillard is one of the most iconic names in modern day Beaujolais. Using traditional practices, Foillard weaves a mesmerising tapestry of texture, clarity and energy through each of his creations.
The Cote du Py slope is located on the long-extinct volcano of Mont Brouilly and considered to be the best site in Morgon, where Foillard's 60 year old vines produce very low yields of Gamay. The resulting wine has a cherry and wild herb nose, and a smooth, full and juicy palate of intense cranberry, redcurrant and wild raspberry, demonstrating impeccable purity. Some subtle spiciness is carried by a high acidity on the long finish. Gorgeous.
