Place: Montelupo Albese — Piedmont, ITA
Alessandro has a recessive vinous gene, with both his maternal and paternal grandparents working as winemakers. After finishing his studies at Alba, he worked at numerous addresses in Barolo and Barbaresco, most notably at Borgogno for three years. In 2019 Alessandro began making his own wine from fruit purchased from his uncle’s vineyard in Montelupo Albese.
This is 100% whole bunch, slightly skinsy chardonnay macerated for ten days then raised in stainless steel. A story of waxy, pithy texture best enjoyed alongside something from the sea.
