Burgenland in Austria is about forty minutes drive southwest of Vienna and is home to some of the most exciting producers in the country. One of these producers is Gerhard Pittanuer who has been making exceptional wines for over twenty years.

Pitti is Gerhard’s answer to Beaujoalis (who asked the question?) and comprises Zweigelt and Blaufränkisch, two Austrian natives that marry well. It’s medium-bodied, herbaceous and purple-fruited—a great introduction to the Burgenland and Gerhard’s vinous wonderland.
