Jacquère is a white grape native to the cold, mesmerising French Alpine region Savoie. Julien Viana, the 31-year-old vigneron of Cellier de la Baraterie, was born a snowball’s throw from where these vines fruit. A connection manifested in the nimble handling of these grapes.

Sitting stylistically between the waxiness of Pinot Gris and steeliness of Chablis, it is particularly refreshing and unfurls dutifully with time in the glass.
