Young, Fresh and Fancy Free...
Welcome to volume 19 of our selection of wines that share a common thread of vivacity and free spirit!
2020 Trutta Pet Nat, Central Victoria (Vic)
Everyone’s favourite High plains fly fisherman is back with a slew of fantastic releases for 2021. This pet-nat features organically farmed chardonnay alongside Jake’s beloved Marsanne. Apple citrus and sea spray burst.
2020 Konpira Maru 'At Last, the Fruit of an Uncompromising and Unrelenting Pursuit of Perfection' SSB, Grampians/Kilmore (Vic)
Another absolute stonker from the boys at Konpira Maru. This ultra tasty white is mash up of barrel fermented Semillon and Sauvignon Blanc from two different sites across Victoria. Crunchy and crispy, pure summer vibes.
2020 Little Ra Ra 'Roopa' Sauvignon Blanc, Pyrenees (Vic)
Kissed with some light skin contact, this Sauvignon from Pyren’s ‘Little Ra Ra’ defies the stereotype of the variety. No overbearing herbaceous edges, no tropical mess, just delicious stone fruit driven slurpability!
2020 La Violetta 'Loosie' Rouge, Great Southern (Wa)
Syrah, Grenache, Pinot Gris and Mataro make up this blend from La Violetta, though the issue to celebrate is the style rather than the grapes: It is crunchy, oh so fresh and with it’s hair down and wavy! One of the most fun red wines we have come across in a long long time!
2020 Das Juice 'Red', McLaren Vale (Sa)
Merlot, Cabernet and Pinot come together in this liquid party to form a slupable, style of rouge that we have come to expect from the Das Juice Wines. No oak, no adjustments (bar a little sulphur at bottling), just a heinously good time, Das ist gut!
2019 Castelmaure 'Sansa' Rouge, Languedoc (Fra)
This blend of Syrah, Grenache and Carignan comes from the heart of Langudoc’s Corbieres region. It has no added sulphur and can be enjoyed chilled in the park or at home on the table alongside some serious cooking. Medium bodied with spice laden aromatic lift and textural crunch.
