2021 Just Enough Wines 'Brutal!' Merlot Adelaide Hills, SA
Just Enough Wines is UK wine importer Bobby Fishel’s first foray into winemaking from various regions throughout South Australia with minimal to no additions. Brutal!!! Is 100% Merlot from the Adelaide Hills made with no additions including sulphur. The wine sees three days on skins resulting in a light to medium bodied wine with freshness and vitality.
2021 Little RaRa Pet Nat No.2 Grampians, VIC
Essentially, this is Passiona for adults. It’s Sauvignon Blanc with unfermented Pinot Gris bringing the bubbles to the party. In addition to the kaleidoscope of tropical fruits there are flecks of herbaceousness and faint spice for a little verve. Tear that cap off and drink liberally!
2021 Giovanni Armani Giorgio Bianco Superiore Adelaide Hills, SA
Ciao! Giovanni is back and he is more sexy than ever. The blend is Malvasia, Vermentino and Trebbiano from organically farmed sites in the Barossa Valley and Adelaide Hills. Texture, alert acidity and tropical fruit refreshment characterise this little tube of Italiano inspired refreshment.
2021 BK Wines 'Skin & Bones' Pinot Noir Adelaide Hills, SA
Skin-n-Bones – once the punk rock anarchist of the line-up – is a trusted best mate. And in 2021 – a unicorn of a growing season – with no serious heat and a bountiful harvest, there was no pressure to get the fruit off the vine, despite the notoriously narrow Pinot Noir picking window. We have been able to translate this mellowed out, easy-rider spirit straight to the bottle. A Pinot squarely in the frame where we want it to sit every vintage: raspberry red, chewy fruit, undergrowth spice, everything. Young and beautiful with a lingering finish. It truly is all that.
2021 Brash Higgins 'CINS' Cinsault McLaren Vale, SA
If you are familiar with the wines of Eric Pfifferiring from Domaine l’Anglore then you will recognise the inspiration for this wine. Vibrant, thirst-quenching, red-fruited wonder awaits you, with energetic length and volume that will knock your socks off. The soundtrack of an endless summer.
2021 Italain Plastic 'Golden' Fleurieu Peninsular, SA
As golden as a Tusacan sunset! Three aromatic white grapes combine to create a blend that is better together than apart. This tastes exactly as you would imagine—floral, tropical, a little herbaceousness, a little grippy and a lot of flavour. Supple throughout with a firm and slightly bitter finish. Delicious with all things fried. Another winner from Sam Berketa.
