2021 The Lost Plot Grampians Shiraz Grampians, Vic
Born from a love of southern French varieties, Paul Old began The Lost Plot (the name an homage to his time at Les Clos Perdus in Corbieres) to work with fruit he felt had something to say. Now made by Matt Campbell of Crittenden, this is bright, supple and approachable shiraz lifted by a splash of roussanne. Wonderful with all things barbecued.
2019 Accornero ‘Campomoro’ Barbera Piedmont, Italy
Ermanno Accornero leads the fifth generation at the helm of this iconic Monferrato address. Known for producing generous barbera and scintillating grignolino that can rival the perfume of their Langhe neighbours, the grapes are organically farmed over soils that have varying proportions of clay limestone throughout. This is plush and generous barbera designed for easy-going drinking. It’s hand-harvested then rests in stainless steel for six months before bottling. A wonderful example of easy-going and expressive Piedmont barbera.
2021 PINO Pinot Noir Adelaide Hills, Sa
For lovers of this wonderful grape, we’ve found the perfect bottle! 750ml of fresh, fragrant, eminently guzzleable goodness that is as comfortable at quick midweek dinners as long weekend lunches. PINO comes from a sustainably farmed vineyard at the northern end of the Adelaide Hills, bordering the Eden Valley. Drink from a tumbler or your best glass. It’s best enjoyed alongside comfort food, most recently enjoyed by us with some neighbourhood Peking duck rolls liberally dipped in plum sauce.
