2019 Camporsino Chianti, Sangiovese, Tuscany (Ita)
Cherries, Violets, leather, oh yep we are in Chianti town, And Chianti town is pizza town! Rusticity and tannin that we would expect from the region, but in a fine and approachable presentation that makes this very much a crowd pleaser.
2019 Castelmaure 'Sansa!' Rouge, Languedoc (Fra)
This blend of Syrah, Grenache and Carignan comes from the heart of Langudoc’s Corbieres region. It has no added sulphur and can be enjoyed chilled in the park or at home on the table alongside some serious cooking. Medium bodied with spice laden aromatic lift and textural crunch.
2019 Bodegas Exopto 'Bozeto de Exopto', Tempranillo Blend, Rioja (Esp)
Exopto means to long for or desire eagerly; fitting, because we eagerly desire wines like this. Bozeto is made to show the blueprint of Rioja and the varieties that thrive within. A blend of Tempranillo, Garnacha and Graciano showing elements of the varieties, but coming together seamlessly as a fresh, juicy, moreish wine.
2019 Syrahmi 'Demi' Shiraz, Heathcote (Vic)
To talk about Victorian Shiraz and not mention the name Adam Foster is sacrilege to the grape. As famous for being a wine LOVER as he is a winemaker, Adam makes shiraz that has it's heart in the Northern Rhone but it's feet firmly planted in Central Victoria.
2020 Garagiste 'Le Stagiaire' Pinot Noir, Mornington Peninsula (Vic)
Another brilliant Stagiaire release from Barney Flanders. Gamay-esque tart raspberry and fresh-cut violet. A release we anticipate every year and every year becomes increasingly polished and sophisticated.
2020 Somos 'Tintito' Grenache/Pinot Meunier/Nero d'Avola, McLaren Vale (Sa)
Grenache, Pinot Meunier, Nero d’Avola, Trincadeira, Mataro, Parraleta What a blend! Medium-bodied, blue-fruited, juicy, chewy goodness. Such a pleasure to drink. Reminiscent of grandma's blueberry jam. True vin de soif!
