The words affordable and grower champagne are decreasingly spoken in the same sentence thanks to consistent—often significant—annual price increases. All the more reason for our surprise when we tried this cuvee—one of the best grower champagnes outside of the usual suspects we've seen for some time.
Named for the street the winery is located on, Rue du Sorbier spends 28 months on lees in stainless steel, doesn't undergo malolactic fermentation and sees no dosage. Dry and wonderfully zippy fizz that overdelivers.
