Region: Umbria, ITA
Variety: Trebbiano, Procanico, Drupeggio
Casa Agricola (farm house) Malauva is located in Castel Giorgio between Umbria, Tuscany and Lazio. The winery began in 2017, when the two founders heard the call of the wild and left their old lives behind to dedicate themselves to winemaking. They bought an old farm on six hectares of vines in the woods and restored it with intent is to create a small, diversified ecosystem in which vineyards, olive trees, vegetable gardens and animals coexist in permaculture glory. Sounds delightful, is delightful.
From volcanic soils, this is Trebbiano, Procanico and Drupeggio. The three tenors of the Umbrian vinous world, very much crooning in unity. Minimal intervention, fun, funky like James Brown in bootlegs feeling good.
