Region: Goulburn Valley, VIC
Variety: Glera (Prosecco)
I love drinking good prosecco. I got in the habit during harvest in Italy when a little glass at aperitivo was so satisfying and refreshing. This wine was made ‘by hand' as opposed to the mass production methods that dominate the Victorian prosecco landscape (machine harvest, bulk pressing, heavy hands in the winery). The bottle wears artwork by my partner Kit, which is extra nice given we met over those aperitifs.
Fresh lime and green, fresh herbal aromatics - nettle and mint, like a dry mojito if I may.Yuzu citrus, ultra pithy with a little tiny lick of curds on the pallet. There’s that tensile, jumpy energy from the porous granite soils, and a soft chalky grip that leaves you salivating. Finishes clean and refreshing at 9.5%. So drinkable and begging for some sunshine. - Notes from the winemaker, Pat Underwood
