Region: Chiroubles - Beaujolias, FRA
Karim Vionnet is a fast rising star in Beaujolais, having apprenticed with the likes of Marcel LaPierre, Guy Breton and Jean Foillard before launching his own label. This one goes against the stereotype of the highest cru in Beaujolais. More generously fruited than usual, it is plush, extroverted and brooding. A beautiful glass on its own, but pairs wonderfully with robust dishes, from salty charcuterie to venison. This cuvee is the only wine from his label which sees oak.
