Xav Goodridge is smashing it right now. As well as making incredible wines of vitality under his 'Xavier Goodrige' label, he is doing wonderful things at the Gippsland fun factory that is 'Jumpin Juice' that he oversees with Patrick Sullivan. The brief is fun, delicious and energetic wines that don't break the bank but do enrich the soul.
Below is a three pack that is a stepping stone to the wonderful world of Jumpin' Juice.
2020 Jumping Juice 'Yellow', Sauvignon Blanc, Margaret River (Wa)
This is Margaret River Sauvignon Blanc that has spent 20 days on skins before being pressed to tank. A seasoning of Gewurtztraminer is added before bottling. Lemon pith, yuzu and citrus quench make this the perfect usher to spring.
2019 Jumping Juice Riesling, Gippsland (Vic)
It's not the typical footloose and fancy-free style of wine you see typically under the Jumpin Juice label, this is something a little more serious. Mineral, pure and racy, it has depth of flavour and line of length in the mouth! A beautiful wine, everything in it's right place, sheer precision.
2020 Jumping Juice 'Sunset' Rose, Margaret River (Wa)
10 second spent looking at this wine is equal to 2 days on holiday. Just have a look at it! It absolutely radiates in bottle, with colour that reminds us of an icy cold glass of grapefruit and guava juice. It is truly the colour of summer, and it tastes like it too. This is Bio-dynamically farmed skin contact Sauvignon Blanc, Gewurtztraminer and Shiraz from Margaret River. In the mouth it bursts with fruit, providing refreshment and deliciousness in spades, drink the sunset!
