Primo Pinot - 3 Pack

$180.00

From the bunchy and perfumed to the delicate and refined and the dense and dark, these are three wines featuring heavily on the rotation of our pinot drinking schedule. Time to simmer the risotto and fill up your cup!

2020 Hurley Vineyard 'Lodestone' Pinot Noir Balnarring - Mornington Peninsula, VIC

Kevin Bell and Tricia Byrnes make expressive single vineyard pinot noirs from their Balnarring block that—although we try not to—have us drawing comparisons to Burgundy as these wines impress us with their finesse and power. Having said that, they speak with a distinctive Mornington accent, one that we love to hear.

Lodestone is the warmest of the single vineyards and is always harvested first.  Naturally, then, it’s powerful and concentrated, but not at the expense of freshness. Earthy on the nose and plush in the mouth. The fruit is darker in character than Hommage and Garamond, and the tannins more evident, reflecting the heavier, rockier, clay soil.

2021 Mammoth 'Variations' Pinot Noir Red Hill - Mornington Peninsula, VIC

Carefully crafted by the legendary Michael Glover, formally of Bannockburn in Geelong.

Variations is organically-farmed, dry-grown pinot noir from a single site at Red Hill on the Mornington Peninsula. It's incredibly fragrant, savoury and spicy with long, fine tannins. One of the best examples of Peninsula pinot we’ve seen in a long time.

2021 Stefano Lubiana 'Primavera' Pinot Noir Derwent Valley, TAS

Stalwart biodynamic winemaker Steve Lubiana is meticulous both in the vineyard and cellar.

Unsurprisingly, this approach results in precise and expressive wines that showcase the best of south-eastern Tasmania. Primavera is made to be approachable, with silken tannins, soft acidity and great generosity of fruit.
