NV Domaine de Marcoux 'Raisin de Loup' Rhone Valley, France

This tiny domaine is one of pioneers of French biodynamic viticulture. They were the first in Châteauneuf to convert to biodynamics over twenty years ago. They have remained very small, only producing between two and four thousand cases total, so that for many, they remain a hidden gem. Layers of earthy plum, grenadine and dried fruit are framed by powdery tannins; a spicy, generous Southern Rhône close keeps everything fresh.

2019 Cottanera 'Barbazzale' Rosso Etna — Sicily, Italy

Consistently one of the best value Sicilian reds we see. Comprising 90% Mascalese, 10% Cappuccio, it’s fresh with firm tannins and great length. There’s a lovely balance between the fresh forest fruits and a satisfying forest floor savouriness that lends itself to a panoply of oily and salty dishes. 

2018 M Sokolin 'La Espaldera' Rufete Sierra de Francia, Spain 

Plenty happening here—don’t be misled by the light bodied, early ripening Rufete grape. It starts with plenty of fine spice to smell and taste in the fine fruited body, and leaves you with a savoury mouthfeel. Fresh and fine!

2016 Chateau Crusquet de Lagarcie Bordeaux, France

Château Crusquet de Lagarcie hails from AOC Côtes de Blaye which sits just north of Pomerol and St Emilion and is made up of 80% Merlot and 20% Cabernet Sauvignon. A full-bodied red showing cherries, tobacco, spice. A great autumnal red.

2020 Maestro Tejero 'Vina Almate' Tempranillo Ribera del Duero, Spain

Hand harvested fruit comes into the winery as perfect whole clusters and thrown into ferment as they are. This results in a lighter, spicier, more fruit-forward style of Tempranillo which is meant to be drunk with gusto whilst in its youth.

2018 Bibi ‘Casamatta’ Sangiovese Tuscany, Italy

"Casamatta” translates to “crazy house” and is Bibi's wink at the liveliness of his home. It's a bright, approachable Sangiovese designed to be the casamatta's tavolo rosso. Earthy, vibrant and very moreish. Perfect for midweek tortellini.
