Region: Burgenland, AUT
Variety: Blaufränkisch
Biodynamic farming, minimal sulphur at bottling
The Blaufränkisch grapes are grown on limestone ‘Kalkstein’ soils, and mainly come from the Leithaberg site, which gives the wine a lifted, mineral profile. The grapes spent 10 days on the skins, and is semi-carbonically fermented in inox tanks. The wine is then aged in 3000 litre and 500 litre oak barrels. Savoury, mineral, crunchy red from one of the best young producers in Austria. - Notes from the importer
