Bodegas Exopto was founded in 2003 by a Frenchman who moved West for love. Exopto means to long for or desire eagerly; fitting, because we eagerly desire wines like this. That’s to say, honest expressions of fruit and site, and this is new age Rioja speaking its truth on both accounts. From old vines, this is more precise than powerful thanks to thoughtful elevage in concrete and old French oak rather than the Riojan habit of over extracted, oak monsters. It’s made to show the blueprint of the region and the varieties that thrive within. A great blend showing elements of the varieties, but coming together seamlessly as a fresh, juicy, moreish wine.
