Gentle Folk is Gareth & Rainbow Belton who are located in Basket Range in the Adelaide Hills. In 2013, after helping and hanging out with James Erskine (Jauma), Alex Schulkin (The Other Right) and other early pioneers of the Basket Range wine movement, they made their first wine—just three barrels from the Broderick's beautiful Basket Range vineyard.
They now organically farm five sites totalling 8ha planted to pinot noir, chardonnay, riesling and sauvignon blanc. Their wines share freshness and elegance and are some of the most exciting and interesting in the Hills right now.
The combination of the region's highest and oldest pinot noir vines and a very cool season, has resulted in pitch-perfect phenolic and tannin ripeness, with plenty of Scary Gully spice on the nose. 2022 will go down as one of the great years for Pinot Noir.
