It’s always a pleasure to see a newcomer making good wines from the outset. Four vintages in and Charlie Mann is definitely fine-tuning year-on-year. He swapped music for wine in 2019, learning the ropes with Owen Latta, where he continues to work.
The wine leaps out of the glass with beautiful aromas of violets, plums, cherries, and perfectly ripe blackberries all vying for attention. If velvet were a smell this would be it. Ditto on the palate. It has the perfect gentle grip - more of a light purchase that slowly melts away.
