Place: Tamar Valley, TAS
Variety: Trousseau
Farming: Sustainable
Trousseau is one of the three holy trinity varieties of France’s Jura region, alongside Pinot Noir and Poulsard. Great Trousseau is a story of detail and texture and so it’s in safe hands when produced by Tamar Valley legend Joe Holyman. Fermented in clay amphora and bottled it without any additions whatsoever.
Spice-laden and brooding, this is the shy person in the room who’s probably the most interesting but just needs to warm up. Decant and contemplate.
