Some people seem to be in all the right places at all the right times. Winemaker Matt Large is one of those people. He has worked at Shadowfax, Shaw + Smith, Tolpuddle and stalwart Barolo producer, Luigi Oddero. The last of which is where his passion for nebbiolo and it’s Australian potential were realised.
This nebbiolo from the lauded Malakoff vineyard and made traditionally: long maceration, gentle extraction and large format oak. It bursts out of the glass and, though approachable now, has years ahead of it yet.
