Place: Gols — Burgenland, Austria
Variety: Muscat Ottonel, Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay, Gelber Muskatelle, Traminer
The Burgenland wine region in Austria is about forty minutes drive southwest of Vienna and is home to some of the most exciting producers in the country. One of these producers is Gerhard Pittanuer who has been making exceptional wines for over 20 years. We absolutely adore this wine and have loved seeing its progression over the years.
We love Gerhard's words on this one: "Perfect Day is vibrant, subtle, vital and aromatic. Fine citrus notes, a floral undertone, and especially stony mineral hints at an early exclamation point, with yellow fruit aromas and herbal notes adding to the palate. The tannin is grippy but never overbearing and, together with the well-integrated acidity, bundles the wine towards the palate. The texture is delicate yet compact and tightly woven, the finish is animating and multilayered."
