Mallaluka is a family affair in the Canberra district of NSW. These estate-grown wines are made by second generation vigneron Sam Leyshon who has most recently learnt to ply his trade assisting Bryan Martin and Tim Kirk at Clonakilla. These are modern wines that reflect the changing face of this exciting region. He makes wines with a wild side, they are made with minimal intervention and are insane value for money.
Normally sourced from around Canberra however in 2020, Sam lost all his fruit so went searching for fruit. He’s continued this trend in 2021. Zibbibo, Chardonnay, Riesling sourced from multiple regions, fermented on skins using indigenous yeasts.
Tropical salad fruits grown in red earth. Full skins but you wouldn’t know it. Put it in an esky and head to the beach.
